The Green Belt Movement

A Billion Trees for a Better World

Fifty trees will be planted to further the work of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Professor Wangari Maathai and her heroic, revolutionary commitment to sustainable development and women's empowerment.

Professor Maathai had an inspired vision: by planting trees, she could make the barren soil of her native Kenya more fertile; by working with women, she could transform society from the roots up. Thirty years later, the Green Belt Movement has grown into a global effor to plant one billion trees in the next decade.

As they grow, these seedlings will bear fruit, enriching the environment and increasing gender equity. This offering is a double blessing, conferred upon both women and our collective home, the planet.

70% of your gift goes directly to our partner organization. The remaining funds go to the gift of compassion envelope, packaging, and other foundation overhead.
