Wind Over Wings

Raptors as Teachers for Challenged Youth

Your gift allows a class of 10 special needs children to meet and interact with birds of prey. These birds are unable to be released back into the wild due to severe injuries that prevent their survival. For children challenged with afflictions ranging from autism to leukemia, these raptors are life-changing teachers; inspiring trust, courage, adaptability and resilience.

The visiting owls, falcons, hawks and eagles have faced tremendous adversity and trauma in their rehabilitation. Beyond surviving, they are thriving - enjoying human connection and a whole new life as educators. Children are particularly responsive to animals, and learn that the birds, like themselves, each have personal stories to share. When people make a connection with wildlife, intentional cruelty will lessen.

With respect, humor and love, Hope Douglass, Founder and President of Wind Over Wings, leads small groups of children on transformational journeys exploring right action, hope and responsible stewardship of the environment.

70% of your gift goes directly to our partner organization. The remaining funds go to the gift of compassion envelope, packaging, and other foundation overhead.
