One in three women on the planet will be raped or beaten in her lifetime. In areas like the Democratic Republic of the Congo, rape is even used as a military tactic to suppress and traumatize generations of women and men and ultimately unravel the fabric of society. V-Day, a global activist movement founded by Eve Ensler in 1998, works to stop this violence, as well as rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation, and sex slavery. To date, V-Day has raised over $80 million, educated millions about the issues of violence against women and girls and has built communities for rape and violence victims all over the world, including the Congo. Your donation to V-Day promotes their monumental work and supports One Billion Rising, their worldwide campaign to mobilize the collective strength of women against violence.
